Shadows of Valentia Unboxing

Hey everyone! I figured people would find it interesting if I shared a new pickup of mine. My copy of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Limited Edition arrived today, so I decided to take pictures after unboxing the goods! It was really tempting to not open up the Alm and Celica Amiibo set while waiting for the Limited Edition game to arrive, but it was well worth the wait.

Forgive my poor lighting and camera setup

Final Thoughts

Overall, I am very impressed with this limited edition. Nintendo has genuinely impressed me with this set, and while they could have done a bit more to stock inventory, this is nowhere near the debacle Fire Emblem Fates: Special Edition was. I especially like inclusion of a full-size artbook, and they were very smart to include the classic 8-bit versions of the songs in the soundtrack.

As far as the Amiibo go, I enjoy the amount of detail Alm and Celica have. Their outfits look amazing, and while their faces aren’t the best, the quality is still MILES above some of the derpiest Amiibo faces (I’m looking at you Marth and Palutena). Celica’s neck is also unnaturally long, which is a little creepy. Still, these are two of the higher quality human Amiibo. They are about on par with Smash series Zelda, Robin, and Lucina. Not quite the spectacle that Smash Ganondorf is, but the details are similar in quality to the BotW series–except the faces on the BotW Amiibo are done better.
